Default I got killed lol!!!! what did he possibly have ???

ok, so an 00-02 camaro ss pulls up on me, i instantly notice he's loud from the engine & exhaust - i'm totally stock other than borla xr1 muffler & homemade ftra style intake & a hawks lid. well, needless to say, he won twice from 2 25-30 rolls. i would say within 7 seconds he was ahead enough to pull in front of me & would then keep pulling - so i'd say a car length BETWEEN my hood & his rear within 7 seconds. was he probably cammed with longtubes? were in cali so if longtubes hes illegal lol but either way just curious as to your guys thoughts. if just Comp XR265HR or 224/114 cammed would i have been at least right with him?

Probably intake exhaust tune. 7 seconds is a pretty long time to gain 1 car length. Not like it was a blow out from the sound of it.

1 car after 7 secs isn't so bad. I'm on mobil so I can't see your sig. I'd say he could have been a bolt on, stalled auto or well driven 6-speed. With the mods you listed, I'd think a cammed car would have put more on you than 1 car.

To give an idea, I'll share my experiance.

My old 00 Z28, bolt on's, full exhaust, stall'd auto with 3.42's, vs my buddies 99 Z28, bolt on's, 799 heads, cam, stall'd auto with 3.73's. He put about 4-5 cars on me from around 50-120ish every time. He also had an LS6 intake whereas I had the crappy LS1 intake.

^^^This OP
A cammed, full exhaust car would have pulled at least 4-5 cars in 7 seconds on a car with your mods.

Without headers, you're going to be limited in your cam choices. Most pre ground cams will require them. IMO any cam that is fine with the stock manifolds wouldn't be worth the effort in swapping it out, let alone the cost of having it tuned. With the exception of turbo cams of course. If you want somthing that will be better than what you have, but want to retain stockish idle, drivability and pass all your states emission requirements, you're basically limited to an LS6 cam. Maybe even an LS7 or LS9, though you would have to change your front cover and timing set for the LS9 to work.
If you have the money to blow, you could get a custom grind, but with the stock manifolds don't expect any peak gains over 20-25whp. It would be mostly about altering your power band instead of expanding it.

You can make your ride pretty quick though with a LS6 or like. cam. There are other areas to look into for picking up power and overall e.t. PM HioSSilver, he's got the full bolt on thing down pretty damn good.

Don't the cali guys usually use LS7 manifolds? Should be solid gains there. He's definitely going to have to stick with a small cam to pass smog.

i'm not going to believe that, mainly because it's been rumored around town that he does in fact have a dual e-ram which i know for a fact to only be compatible as a multiple system when connected with 1 guage wire to 2 turbonators installed between the maf & the tb securely wedged into the fernco smooth bellow.
