Default 1996 383 LT4 Corvette vs 2015 Mustang 5.0

Video is pretty self explanatory. My buddy spotted a 5.0 in the distance and gave chase. Wanted to see how his new Corvette stacked up against the local competition. He had owned the car for less that 48 hours at the time.

Corvette is far from running right. Bad alternator, 9:1 AFR (if not lower...dumping fuel out the back), bad plugs, bad optispark, bad coil, etc... Sounds ******* glorious. Was cruising around last night with him and he killed it from about a 1/4 mile in front of me and it was deafening the entire pull. Straight piped 383 with a big cam makes such glorious noise!

5.0 owner was talking a lot of trash to the Camaro driver behind us when they ran later...working on that video now.

5.0 was stock except for a cold air intake...maybe.

Enjoy!

**** the dude driving that mustang, he got a two car hit on me and couldn't pull me, then from a dig he got a massive jump and still did not pull me,

i never was able to even start a race next to him, he would only stage a car infront of me

If the car has ignition issues then it may not sound "cammed" once it's fixed lol!

took the optispark out and it had oil in it, changed the old plugs out and the stem was gone, still runs the same, i am thinking it may have been tuned with those issues

Comp Cam 292XFI cam. Sounds nasty at full chat. I'll see if I can't get a flyby video tonight or tomorrow.

The run in question that Mappinsj is referring to...

Hope you loctite the rotor screws back! If not, you'll regret it after a few pulls!

With such a low AFR be VERY careful you don't wash the rings out. Do a leak down right before you get it tuned.

Nice kill, hope you get the car right soon. Have you considered the ls coil conversion?

I can't wait to see this car in action once all of it's gremlins have been taken care of and RPM Motorsports has had it's way with it. Should be a new beast come the 21st.

Other than the tune, the alternator is having issues at high RPM's. He's put two new ones on the car. Original one died, put a new one on from O'Reilly Auto, returned it last night and put another on, still having charging issues. General driving it's fine, but as soon as the pedal is on the floor and up in RPM's, alternator charge starts dying off or stops completely.

I'm projecting around 500rwhp with a kill tune.

you did watch the wrong video, because after he took a random jump, and I actually stepped on the gas, he didn't pull me an inch.... guess you're fantasy is diluted.
