Good Run! That hawk lost a lot of momentum with that slow shift to 4th. Short shifted 2-3 as well.

Nice runs!

I guess we just have to come to reality that not everyone's cammed fbody runs the way it should. Both still good running cars though.

Who tuned the 5.0? The 15' 5.0s I have seen with CJ intakes have actually lost power. The stock intakes on them work very well. Either way he made up 2 cars up top.....looked like he was about a car back going into 4th.

there's more to CJ than power, power curve is were it shines. this thing makes power all the way to 8000 and never tapper off, stock manifold won't do that.

Dee it said 243 heads so I'm assuming stock casting ls6 heads. Looks like a cammed ls6 is a good run with fbo 15 br0.

That's what I was going to ask. Stock casting 243's with a LS6 intake is equivalent to a 2001-2002 f bomb with a cam and headers.

Or were they 241's?

The Firehawk in the OP has LTs. So it's equivalent to an '01-'02 f bomb with a cam and a 243-casting headswap.

Everything I've seen, 243 in stock form gain 15-25rwhp over stock 241's. Obviously depending on cam and intake setup, but usually good for at least 15rwhp.

Looks like in most cases a fbo 5.0 is running with a cam only ls1. Not the case when mine was "cam only", but some combo's work better than others. But even with stock 243 heads, a cammed ls1 should have walked away from a 5.0. But anything can happen on the street.

For reference, the Firehawk did pull the mustang before the mustang did longtubes and intake manifold
