When the 16 Camaro first arrived it seemed like they were claiming that it was much faster than the Mustang, but the more races I keep seeing between these cars, the more it looks like they are much closer than expected

The mustang in the video definitely has non-oem exhaust tips indicating a catback at a minimum. Seems that the "stock mustang" statement is not true. I wouldnt be surprised if that stang was tuned too.
Do you know the vehicles in the video?

I agree, it lost ground on every shift but was able to make it back up quite quickly, then fell back a bit then pulled some more

Well, a solid steady pull throughout. You can see how much ground is lost between those pathetic shifts then after the shift he goes on to pull hard until the next shift where he losses momentum and ground but then makes it back up and then some with ease.

As far as your car, from what I have seen, it runs pretty well. IIRC, you are e85/catback, correct?
