I would think a8 to a8 it would be close wuth the 5.7 and 5.3.

My uncles 03 rcsb 4x4 ran like a 15.7 bonestock. We just did a set of 243s on it, 1.9 rockers, headers and i tuned it a little. Really woke it up. Put alot if tq in that little motor to.

My 2500hd ran a 16.1 stock. I did a very mild tune on it, cai, udp and it ran a 16.1.....but with heavy *** hummer wheels and 33x12.5 17s. Mods basically offset the bigger tires. But it runs pretty good from a roll. It can make much better et'ing vehicles wonder wtf once it's moving.
It happens from time to time. But under fair conditions they don't lose very often.
My uncles stock 5.3 made 239whp/259wtq. Same dyno i made 413 on years ago pre rockers and fast....same day to. To be fair here we are comparing the top ram motor to the midrange chevy to.

dodge actually puts the 6.4 in the ram now so the 5.7 isn't the top of the line gas truck engine anymore.

Just a thought. A H.O 5.3 would likely put down around 260whp.....should be 20hp more than my uncles as my uncles is no a H.O. Although it does now have 243 heads on it and a few other goodies.

Trust me man, that hemi will walk all over a 5.3L silverado, even an HO. I'd say motor vs motor, I'd give the hemi an edge over the LS equal in HP. They just put those motors in cars that are way too heavy.

Best part is I've only lost to 1 hemi truck. It was cammed, headers, tune, cut out, cai and was a rcsb 1500 4x4 vs my 2500 hd ecsb 4x4. We did a 25/30 roll. I know how they run. Been there done that with out youtube.

Punch tow/haul button, shift manually at 6k......no hemi worries.

Now if you let the auto shift where it wants in the chevy truck you may lose. They shift about 5200 rpm. All you have to be is just a little smarter than the auto to win.

my bone stock 02' WS6 A4 made 327rwhp 343rwtq then I put in a Yank 4200 and long tube headers and true duals and it made 302rwhp without a tune though lol

So I have a crew cab Hemi and an extended cab 5.3L lined up, the hemi walks it like a dog and that is laughable? There are videos after videos of Hemi rams walking on 5.3L's and 6.0L's with equal or fewer mods and that is laughable? There are countless dyno sheets showing the hemi beating a comparable LS by at least 20RWP and that is laughable?

I love the LS motor, and I would take it over the hemi any day due to reliability and availability, but the hemi is the more powerful motor. That isn't opinion, that is 100% fact.

Remember. .....i have raced the hemis. My uncle has raced the hemis. My neighbor's hemi got beat by my uncles 5.3 in comparable trucks. My uncles truck made 239 whp......H.O. 5.3s make 20 more hp. Even goin by YOUR hp estimates without ever being near a ******* dyno those numbers add up to similar hp.

By YOUR experience you're to ******* stupid to shift the 5.3 manually thus proving you have no ******* clue 100% fact.

I have also raced the hemi, the GM lost in my case. No, a dyno sheet doesn't matter, but all of the silverado losses that I posted above, and the silverado that lost my hemi does paint a picture. You're too blind to see it.

Oh and 5.7L hemi vs 5.7L GTO. That charger also weighs at least 200lbs more than the LS1. It's always been about the weight.
