Talking Edged out a Roush Stage 3

Well, I was hanging out up in Concord last night, with a few local LS1ers and the local rich boy, rolls up in his Roush Stage 3 drop top stang'. (he's a cool guy, guess i'm just a bit envyous of his $$$) Not sure of exact mods, but he said he dynoed 370 to the wheels at Underground Racing in Charlotte, and i know its a stick. So we head out and a few miles down the road, we get 'lucky' enough to catch a light. Neither of us popped a rev or anything, but when the light turned i was gonna ride 1st, just to be ready. So we're going 5-10ish and he hits it and puts a fender on me, i respond. i take it up to then end of 2nd gear and shut it down, didn't wanna get going to fast because its not a totally remote location. The end result, i put his nose about flush with my rear tires. Not a very long run, but lots of fun a no doubt satisfiying! -Jim

Short run but nice kill none the less.

Roush S3 are bad *** lookin but don't put much to the ground for being blown, very low 300s kinda like a stock LS1 mabe a hair more.

fast enough, all the magazine I seen report 12.7s. It's by no means slow. Nice win, I agree, needed a long run but it's still goes down in the book for ya.

you're kidding right? i know for a FACT that the stage 3's dyno between 350-360 rwhp and have seen a few that have gone over 370 rwhp STOCK.

if those moron magazines can post that time. I expect better times at the track. At least here in maryland. There's a guy here who works for enterprise said his ran 12.9 on street tires.

I never witnessed it but I don't see him lying about it. But than again, anything is possible.

Im sure its possible, but the very best ive seen at the track was a 13.0 (I know 12s ain't outta the question I just haven't seen it).

Ive also read many times between 12.7-13.0, and again I haven't seen it.

Well, i'm planning on going to Fayetteville Dragway this sunday, and i've invited the guy to come with me, he said "we'll see" so maybe i can give ya'll a report on the results. I'd liked to ran him longer, b/c i was still inching him back, but shut it down due to the location we racing. No need to do something rash when i already 'had' him and then regret it later. -Jim

R&T tested the Roush stage 3 and drive only ran a 13.3, but he admitted he was a horrible driver and said it should go high 12s

What was wrong with the computer?

They might get some more power if they st8n out the AF in the higher RPMs. I just don't see them getting anywhere near 380-390rwhp. With that kinda power stock they would see mostly low 12s.

here is a graph of the same car you posted above. notice the 362 MAX POWER.

Yep, Hoss itsa silver one. There are two running around here. One with silver wheels and a HUGE older guy driving. The one i ran has chrome wheels and good sized guy. both are convertables.

Looks like they leaned out the higher RPMs for a little more juice. Decent #s I have seen a few dynos from them and they were much less. Unless Im also thinkin of the S281 S/C (not the E).
In that case the fix we will call it Roush S3 should take an LS1 for sure then .
