Default C5 vs T/A

My friend's dad has an 04 C5 vert and I have a 98 T/A with lid and a catback, I want to run him for fun. I know I'm probably going to lose, but I wanted to know if it'd even be close. We are both A4s. What do you guys think? I'll definatly post results, but its too crappy of weather to even take our cars out.

check this, last summer i raced a c5 stock, from the line to about 60mph he pulled 2 cars on me. I gave him the thumbs up and all. So we got on the highway we went at a 60 mph roll. He pulled 1/2 a car on me right away, then it stayed dead even till 120 and we stopped. I was very suprised, i dont know if it has to do with what gears i have or what but i didnt think i would keep up with him like that. I think it was a 98 not sure but i know it was a c-5, so it should actually be close between you both.

Well your trans am most likley has a 3:23 gear ratio in the rear end
and a c5 has a woping 2:73 gear ratio in it. So what your ta lacks in horse
power the gear ratio kind of makes up for it. A bout a year and a half ago
i seen a race between a 00 ws6 and a 99 c5 form a dead stop. They were
even through first gear, but when they hit second the vette jumped a whole
car length and just let off like it was a big joke. Good luck dont get pulled to bad, that bet may be geared for the high way but that car will still fly. Always remember the faster those things go the lower to the ground they get.

Sure they do. The newer ones that is the trans am's and the z28's. I think any wear back to 96 or 97.

You have a better shot than you think... assuming the Vette is stock. Go for it!

Yeah hes all stock.
I would just buy headers and a converter and probably beat him, but I'm saving up to go FI.

Vettes are lighter.
