ok a guy a i work w/ has an ls1 powered gto, he thinks his motor is better than mine in every way and i tell him its the same motor(correct me if im wrong) he thinks he can put 3 cars on me in no time and i tell him it would be a close race. im wondering if he is full of crap and should i run him and shut him up?? whata u guys think
edit oh yah both are M6 cars

If its not a LS2 you should win. Watch out for the 05's they are pretty quick just my 2cents.

Yah i personly wont mess w/ and ls2 i fugure i will save both of us the gas and time and say they won, but its an ls1

I dont think the LS2 GTOs are that fast, they have to make up for a lot of weight and they have IRS.

I may be wrong, but I would think an 01-02 F-body is about as fast as any of the new GTOs.

04 GTO vs. fbody is pretty close too but an fbody should win.

Nah actually the '05 GTO should be slightly faster. But it's close enough that if the GTO driver makes an error the LS1 Firebird or Camaro would be right up his a**!!

I dont know if its faster than a f-body yet I havent run one. After owning both I think the ls2 feels stronger with the extra cubes and torque but it needs it to pull around a few extra pounds. Stock against stock I think the ls2 would probably win but it could come down to the driver. Depending on how strong the ls1 is some are alot stronger than others.
