Default Stock LS1 vs. S281 SC Saleen

So I see this guy in a beautiful Saleen cruising around town a little bit, so I follow him onto the highway. We went from a bunch of different rolls, and he waxed me everytime. I probably would have fared a little better from a dig with my DRs. I stopped and talked to the guy though, he has BBK Headers and expects around 450 HP apparently. Nice, Beautiful, nasty sounding stang. For those of you in the MD area, he's gonna be down to OC this weekend for the cruise

They are indeed fast cars. Was it the S281E? They are rated at around 450 from the factory. Unless you had lots of mods or a shot of nitrous you will have trouble keeping up. They really are nice cars. Especially the convertible ones.

You have to race those things from a dig or they will get you every time. Your bird really needs to do a 12.5 also.

If it makes a difference, he may have just been a regular S281 Saleen. I dont know, I just know he was supercharged and that it was apparently rated at 425hp

.
No.

S281 (basically a standard GT with a body kit = 14 second car
Supercharged 281 (supercharged GT w/ body kit) = 13.0 second car.
S281-E (pretty badass, very rare) = 445hp and a 12.5 second car.

A good driver in a M6 stock ls1 will give the blown saleen all he can handle. When my car was stock except for the lid and filter I beat one 3 times at the track. His best times were 13.0 and I ran 13.0 and 12.95 on Good Years F1's. I would love to see the 281 E. I hear they are sweet.

Yeah I wasn't thinking they were 450hp because i ripped a silver convt. a new one. About a month ago on 421 in Winston some older guy. went from a 70 mph roll no spray never saw him again.

Yeah he didnt completely beat me, the races were kind of short. But he was definetely supercharged and I know i would have done alot better from a dig.
