Bagged an R1

Bagged an R1
I was out on a little cruise with the wife when a set of biker boyz came fast up from behind. I put the car in 6th gear to try and quiet down the supercharger a bit and see if I could get one of the bikes to go. It had rained and dried off earlier in the day cooling things off nicely, so I knew the car was making a bonified 700+. Out of the crew an R1 pulled up on the right and paced at my speed of ~70 mph. I gave the car a little lurch to let him know I was game. Without looking over he punched it. I dropped the car into 3rd and hammered it. I spun BAD and immediately aborted 3rd and went for 4th. The R1 had hopped out about 1/2 a car from my poor gear choice. I matted the thottle in 4th. The car hooked up and I immediately began to move up on the R1. At the top of 4th I started slowly moving by the R1. I spun 4th all the way out to the full 17 psi (love it when it gets cool out) and shifted to 5th. I continued to slowly move past the R1 until I had about 1/2 a car on him. He shut it down as soon as I started to move out in front. I shut it down as well. We coasted down. I gave him a thumbs up and he gave a knod. The wife gave her usual look of disapproval.
Not my first bike kill, but I was fairly impressed that the car was able to take down one of these from a freeway roll. I expected a different outcome when he pulled up along side.

Nice kill Kevin. Do you know what year R1 it was? Did it have a center outlet exaust under the seat by anychance? What color was it? R1's a fast bike. Especialy the new ones. When i get a clutch we need to go bike hunting. lol

could you give me some specs on your car? I see Eastside did it...I have heard good things about them. I have a 382 with nitrous, went bigger everything, but thinking of using a turbo or supercharger next year.

The bike was the same one in this picture except it was white on black.

We'll defiantly have to go and see if we can catch a few. I'll be back from vacation on the 31st, hopefully you'll have the clutch ready to go by then.

LQ9 heads done over
Full exhaust (stock catback)
D1 Supercharger
Custom front mount intercooler
16-17 psi on pump gas.
I would highly recommend either a turbo or supercharger. Preferrably turbo. There are some nice turbo kits coming out lately. One of the things that I think we at Eastside do real well is building and tuning motors for forced induction. We have more forced induction 600+ HP pump gas street cars than I can keep track of anymore.
I have 10k on my motor already, driven and severely beaten on daily. Send me a PM if you have any questions on a potential build, or any advice on which direction you would like to go.

Sweet kill !!
BTW, I assume you're running an F1? Would an F1 be overkill for a forged 346? I'd like to run at least 15lbs of boost, but I think the D1 will be maxed out. I'd like to leave some rm to grow. Anything different (like air filter, etc) need to be done (vs D1) as far as install?
Thanks.

I run a D1 actually. It is a custom setup, so it flows a little better than the ATI setup. The D1 maxed should give around 700 HP with a good front mount.
The spacing for the F1 is a little different, so you have to pay attention for your mounting hardware.

With a perfect run yeah but believe he cant drive it to that. I should be around 750 rwhp when we run so I am hoping I can reel him in past the 120 mph mark cause I know hell get a few on me at the start.

racing bikes is fun...i havent had the pleasure of racing anything bigger than a 750 but the few 600's and 750's ive run have been delt quite an embarrassing defeat at the hands of my ws.6....
nice kill!!
