The official "missed my opportunity" thread. I, for one have noticed all the fast/nice cars are always on the opposite side of the road driving in the opposite direction from you. These also happen to be the guys who would have otherwise been game because you stare each others cars down as you pass going the other way.
Kind of like yesterday, I was at the light just outside of work running late, waiting in the turn lane when an old ('69?) Mustang with 350 badges and a mean exhaust note pulls up next to me and revs his engine! The guy had to be 50 years old...and I had to pass him up because I was late! why god why!
Also, is there something THAT mean about a modern Camaro or Trans Am? It seems as if lately the ricers know their place...well I shouldn't say ricers...stock looking Tiburons for instance. Tonight I ran into one full of 3-4 guys and gals...and well frankly put, I don't pay my high insurance bill every month for nothing. I let them know their place for a few seconds, and they made it a point to cut across 3 lanes to catch the closest right hand turn.
Just some rambling on my behalf...I'll be suprised if I get any responses to this.

LMAO...It seems to be happening alot. They want to run the Grand Prix GT1 but no tthe TA.....I dont get it.....This happened to me alot when I wa hom ein Aug, the only thigs that I could get to bite was an SRT-10, and a Semi stock Turbo Supra(He had Cat back exhaust only).......

every time i drive my car by myself nothing ever happens. somebody always lines up beside me at the light when i have my 3 month old daughter strapped in her car seat in the back. and i will never race with her in the car. so you can imagine i have had alot of missed opportunities.

same here....when im home i cant find any nice cars when i feel like punching it....but if im in my moms car theres all kinds of badd *** rides around....oh well maybes its a good thing

Ive noticed the same thing, everytime im on the expressway, all the cool cars are going in the opposite direction.
Everytime im out in my camaro, i always end up at stop lights with minivans and escorts. But only when im in my daily driven 1990 ford probe P.O.S do i line up next to mustangs, imports, and cars full of hot chicks.

It kind of clicked why the nice cars are always going the other way on the street....because you're moving at a constant speed with traffic! Going your direction you get what's to the left and right of your lane at one moment on the other side of the street it's all of the traffic headed North East South or West or wherever.....I'm a genius.... 
I see a bunch of nice cars when I'm riding in my friends slow rides however.

this can be simply explained really- if you sit down and think about it.
you are traveling one direction with traffic traveling relatively the same speed. you will see less cars going the same way as you unless people are speeding/going too slow. the same 20-50 cars will be the only cars you probably see.
now traffic going the other way, you see EVERY vehicle that passes so it gives you the illusion that there are tons of awesome cars going the opposite way, when in fact there are just as many cars going the same way as you. you'll just never get near them unless you don't mind speeding tickets and drive like a nutbag to catch up to something.
i've personally busted u-turns to catch up to cars going the other way- when it was safe to do so...
the whole thing about driving another car and how you'll get lined up with a vette/mustang etc...- that is god's cruel joke on us

This crap always happens to me especially on the way to work. This friday I went to the mobil station to fill up the tires (check pressure etc..) and what do i see just finishing up doing the same thing and pulling out of the station a friggin twin turbo supra well i wasnt gonna chase this guy down just to race him but if I had actually taken care of it earlier I would have had him at the light. Good thing i didnt my tires were real low on pressure. He did look over though maybe he was remembering the last camaro that kicked his *** 
Just a honda S2000 and a LS1 owner who did the "Let me start from 2 cars back and do a fly-by thing" (SAD)

I think at a certin number of posts we are suposed to get our LS1 Tech super secret decoder ring. I heard admin can activate it when its time to "take to the streets" Im pretty sure it lights up and plays the night rider theme song.
