Default New 2005 GT stang got slapped

My mods are in my sig, but are not updated yet. 2 weeks ago My friends and I put in the TSP 231/237 595/598 112lsa cam(untuned) along w/ prc .650 springs, hardened pushrods, blah blah blah all the good stuff, anyways......

A new GT pulled out in traffic and cut me off, he had the paper tags so it was still very new. I cuaght back up after slammin on the brakes. I got next to him, looked over and the dude was like 35-40ish in age and was giving me a **** eating grin, like he pulled out on me on purpose. Well I pointed forward and he tapped the gas to let me know he was game. We slowed down to 45mph, me in 2nd gear and we did the 3 honker. I spun right off the bat, and he did not, so he got a 1/2 car jump on me. Once I caught traction it was game over for this dude. I put 1-1/2 cars through 2nd(spinning at start of 2nd), shifted to 3rd and added about 2-3 more cars, went to 4th just to put salt in the wounds and added another 2-3 cars. By the time I shut it down at the top of 4th gear I musta had this dude by 7 cars lenths maybe a little more. I slowed down and waited for him to catch up, and as he evened up w/ me I gave the thumbs up and he shook his head at me and threw his hands up. Don't think he was much of a gracious loser. I love the way this cam pulls past 3000 rpm, can't wait to get it tuned........ sorry so long, had to share my kill on the new cam.

Nice Kill. I took down an automatic not to long ago. Of course my car is nowhere near as fast as yours but I pulled 2 car lengths on him from 60-95mph

only a 13.59 at the track but it pulls a lot harder on the street since it's not sitting in the staging lanes becoming heatsoaked from hell. My friend with similiar mods, but stickier tires and somewhat better suspension, has gone 12.80s.

THe 05 Auto puts about 260 down through a dynojet dyno. They weigh 3500#ish. Yeah, not F-body class at all.

Its amazing to me how convinced people are about certain things with no real knowledge. A guy at work was taklking about how he wants a new Stang and how it would beat everything stock. I mentioned that the 4.6 in the new Stang is a 3V which is kinda cool and he was shocked that the Mustang only has a 4.6. Hes convinced that car is ultra-badass and will cream "everything" stock, and he has no clue motor is in it.

I do like the looks of the new GT. It's still the lack of performance that I dont like. They gave it more power, but countered it w/ added weight. I saw a bone stock 05 GT 5 speed dyno, it made 249.x and 255.x on a dynojet at sealevel w/ an air temp of 70-75 degrees. I was not at all inpressed, cause right after the stang was a 96 T/A w/ flowmaster catback and it did 269 and 270ish. So, basically something GM that is about 10 yrs older would still edge it out...............

Indeed, ford porked it up while giving it slightly more power. If I were to buy one, it would be Vortec'ed after break-in. Anywho, I have not yet had a chance to run one yet so I guess I dont really know...We did have them at the dealership though, and they were okay, felt stronger than the 99-04's. Everyone agreed on that.

^I'm hooked on the looks, their designers did an awesome job of combining old looks w/ new looks. best retro design yet. The fact that they would be another 4.6 that needs a blower in order to run still burns my ***. why the hell didn't they go w/ the 5.4L ?????

the mustang gt qualifies as an LEV i think ford needed to keep their environmental ratings in check, hence the 4.6. The 5.4 trucks get almost identical mileage to the 4.6 trucks, so i doubt mileage is the reason. I would lean towards emissions regulations/ratings.
