theres a guy in my area that has a TA 1993 he removed an engine from an early early 90's vette and put a cam in it he put 3.23 gears on his car and drag radials this guys car appears to be slower than it was befor he runs turbo blue gas because he thingks hes high comp right now his car cuts off at 70 mph due to his gears no being programed and his gov not removed he is sending his comp out to pcm for less he said he willgain 50 hp is that possible? we raced he got me off the line by a car and by 60i was mowing him down easy now he has called me out and said he's gonna stomp me

he thinks because he gets the jump on people he wins

any way i have a stock ls1 1998 my plans are rumbler exhuast ls6 intake and custom y pipe i have 273 gears im also gonna do some drag radials
i may be able to put some 3.23 gears do you guys think i can beat him


what will i gain from them mods and what other not to expensive mods can i do

His mods will not net him as much if you were to do the same on your LS1. But let me get this straight, he pulled his LT1 motor out and put an LT1 motor from a Vette in? Why? ...and how early early year Vette model are we talking about? 90-92 would be the L98 TPI motor.....weak sauce!

You can get some cheap mods. Do the free mods, get a lid, and a cut-out, along with your other mods planned and you will rape the crap out of him.

Sounds like a POS that was beat to hell by the previous owner, shouldn't be a problem to beat him, you've done it once already.
PCM tuning likely won't gain him 50 hp, unless he's got a radical combination, that really needs tuned
Watch for the N2O sneaky pete install (like APeteSS said), but if he's N/A you'll win.
Do the mods you have planned, and add the 3.23s

lol u guys are funny i have an update today he called me a dnsaid he beat a c6 off the line but by the time her got ot 50 the vette gunned him down lol he said when he gets his tuining he will beat it i couldnt stop crying from the intence humor pains lol any way he told me t hat he wants to give me 3 cars and i take off first for 300 bux i said deal im gonna take his money he doesnt have and "sneaky pete" lol i know he doesnt have that ie been all threw his car

not much of a hustler is he? he's supposed to say that he was a hair behind the whole time and you should double the bet since it's gonna be so close.


And if he keeps racing everyone on the street, that old motor will be plenty tired by your turn.


If he's telling the truth I'd be suprised, C6 man probably babied it off the line knowing he'd reel the heap in later-- and it sounds like he did!

Don't underestimate, especially when theres $300 on the line. If you're not sure enought that you had to coem ask us I'd say don't bet, or do $20 maybe. I do think you'll win, but I still would put MY money on it.

don't waste your $ on the mods you mentioned- buy a lid, a stall, and some nitto's. you will be in the 12's easy and you will kill HIM off of the line.
