In Florida on 192, I'm at the light after getting out of horrific traffic. Car pulls up on my right and revs. By the sound, I already know what it is. No blower/turbo sound and no cam work, sounds stock to me. I turn my head while still having my head on the headrest towards the orange mustang GT. I see the owner grinning from behind his tints. I figured that I'll just flash the converter out of the hole to see what he will do. Sure enough, light turns green and I flash to 3000 rpms and I hear him spinning. I floor it and leave several buslenghts on him by 75mph.

He comes along my driver's side this time and has his window down, his girl is in the passenger seat. He shakes his head and says he needs tires. I told him that I have drag radials on. He asks what I have done. I say lid, catback, converter and he replies, "that's it?" and then says that with tires he'd strangle me. I just give a cheesy grin cause I know he wants to go from a roll this time.

Too much traffic from this light so we get to the next light and he's a few cars up ahead. Light turns green and traffic moves, I manage to get along side his passenger side and he jumps then stops, I jump then stop and he floors it with me being right beside him. I floor it, hold him for a fraction of a second and pull 2-3 cars from 45 to 75. No excuse for no tires on a roll He didn't pull along side anymore I already miss Florida

when my girl is with me she will see me looking at cars that go by, and shell ask me 'is he faster than you?' most GT's around here have just basic boltons, so i can be confident when i tell her 'theres no way that guy has enough done to keep up with me at all.' most stangs around here think they are fast as hell, but in reality, there are only a few...and i know who they are, so i dont worry too much

Nice kill. Tires is one of the 1st things you notice when pulling up on someone. Most ppl don't run around on Dr's.

Well I wouldn't call him a punk, at least he came back beside me and asked what I had. He's more like misinformed on his/others car's performance. I bet he's sure to think twice now about running an LS1 with his current setup.

Nice Kill! I had a similar thing happen to me this past summer. I was on this long, pretty much desert 2 lane road with a 65 mph speed limit, going around 50 in the right lane as i was on the phone. Out of no where this 96 mustang GT goes flying past me, then locks his brakes when he sees me. I didnt feel like racing as I was on the phone but he kept slowing down till he was next to me. He then proceded to buck his car by slamming the gas and hitting his brakes (it was an auto). Sounded like only a catback or mufflers, so finally after him doing this like 5 times I look over and his girlfriend is giving me this **** eating grin, like "my boyfriends car will smoke you", so I put my phone down, dropped from 4th to 2nd gear at about 45 mph and pointed and told them to go. As soon as he hit it I floored it and went steam rolling past them. from like 45 mph to about 115 mph he was waaaaay back (might have gotten out of it though at some point as he realized he was smoked). Got to a light a little ways down the road and the kid was about 17 or 18 and he gave me props for my car and asked if it had the 400+ cubic inch engine and when i said naw, just stock ls1 346 with headers and catback his jaw dropped. Good kid though and i complement him on his car, which had flowmasters and cobra wheels, looked real nice. But yea some people just dont know the power of other cars on the road and when they get their first fast car they think they can beat anyone and everyone.

PersonallyI'd race anything whether I stood a chance or not. As there's always the drive mod, plus traction on the street makes a big difference. And if I lost - so what, I lost fair and square. If they are fast and/or drive better it don't bother me, plus I'd get enjoyment from seeing a faster car being put to good use.

Why have a performance car if you don't use the performance?
