SC Firehawk vs TransAm (motor)
Well, an old friend just got back from the army, and he just purchased a supercharger for his 01-02 firehawk. His dyno was at 480hp and in the high 400's in trq. I own a 98 ta that has been fully bored, stock ported heads, new internals, and mid-length headers. Basic bolt-ons. The car hasn't been tuned yet, but after the tune, Dream Chasers estimated 425-450 hp.
Well, i wanted a 30 punch, but he wanted a dead, so we did a dead... I launched at 2.7 rpm and i have no clue what he lanched at, but as soon as we started i pulled half a car ahead. I spun out of first, as he did, and then finally caught some traction right before 2nd. I wasn't really watching his back tires, being a street race and all, so i have no idea how bad or good his traction was. Well, i had the race all the way untill the end. The whole time he inched foward, slowly, but still took it in the end by about a half a car. Even though i lost, i was really happy to stay neck n neck with a sc firehawk vs my engine only. Enjoyed racing him, and will race him again after a tune. Maybe it can pull that half a car off and keep it even.

His motor is a forged 347 is what he meant and he has forged pistons and rods. That trans am of his runs really strong and i wouldnt doubt with a tune you will get that extra car lenght on him. We could always hook my spray up to it and let you dust him one time for the record!!! lol jk
We need to get him to race me someday i would love to see his car in my rear veiw mirror again, but this time im on my new motor!

So all the BS aside from some BB snob.......
AFAIK the most you can get just from bore is a 387. I think APE will make for you. Im intrigued by it for a future swap project because I think that conbined with a decent LSA and some nice duration would make for a great top end screamer. Put a 90/90 on it and see how well it would do in a lightweight chassis
Very nice race BTW.
