Hey found this while going through other forums http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=234735
No disrespect to the hondas, but just showing how an LS1 can change people's minds.
But they disrespect the F-body's handling, it cant be that bad though.

Ya, poor honda people must not believe there are aftermarket suspension mods that quickly take care of our "crappy handling".....poor ricers

I give the guy props for being smart and giving up the ways of the ricer. He's smart enough to make the change to RWD and a V8 rwd on top of that. He shouldnt think of it as a Death by LS1 but as a spiritual rebirth into V8 holyness.

That guy is right though, he's going to buy an LS1 and get owned by other heavily modified LS1's. It's all about climbing that ladder, at least now he's going in the right direction!

Sorry if its off topic but I was looking around on the prelude site and found this in one of the members sigs:
97 BASE
AEM V2 intake
Greddy SP2 Exhaust
So that means 300 whp right?.....correction, 325 whp.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2265626/1
Correct me if Im wrong but I believe Base preludes had around 190hp (flywheel). So if you do the the ricer math approx. 190 + intake + exhaust = 325 hp.
I really hope he is joking.

The prelude FEELS a LOT better than the F-body as far as handling, all wheel IRS plus its 2700# curb weight? Mod your LS1 to handle as well?? He can mod his suspension just as well...I owned an F-body and I had friends with small jap cars. The eclipse GS my friend had was a TURD!! But it would corner like you wouldnt belive. 4th Ge f-bods handle damn well for what they are, but they still feel fat, even compared to older cars meant to handle, such as the Panteras, etc. the F-bod is a straightline car with a pretty good suspension as well. Certainly better than my 5.0, before you all flame me.

Sorry guys but I couldnt resist:
Valenburg:
I personally have driven a 96 camaro z28 6 speed. and it is freaking ridiculous how much power that thing has. I fi shifted a bit too late on it i burnt tires, and in the rain all that TORQUE. it was like i said ridiculous. Plus the fact is we dont get car's to just street race. if we feel comfortable in it then thats y we get them especially as a classy DD like a prelude lol . Youll like the power that you have with one of those and love to race in it. but its not a comfortably laid out car, like pretty much all dumbestics. desh is way to big bucket seats suck and the transmission is halfway sticking out of the floor. even if you really want to desert the lude dont go for a dumbestic DD. they suck. specialy the 8 (gas eater from hell) or at least weight till the new camaro's come out cuz they look sick.

My theory is that he missed a shift and "burnt" his tires causing him to miss school on the day they taught everyone how to write a complete sentence.

I love how they say Do MADDD work to you car Slap on a T66 Turbo and you can beat him. A STOCk LS1 that is. I love HOW Ricers THINK just gose to show you how CLOSED MINDED they Are. And i dont see a honda out handling me on the ROAD either. Those Guys are a bunch of Un-Ripe Fruits.

Wow, became a member there and started reading/commenting, the people seem to be okay, just really ignorant about what an LS1 F-bod can do, like a guy that hung with a stock A4 GTO saying he should now be able to put a hurting on the F-bods...as long as they are not SS/WS6 and hes SURE he can take the A4 F-bods in his area....He jsut needs to run one then again, so do I

A Prelude might handle a tad bit better, and it probalby feels like it handles MUCH better, but I'd like to see it pull faster lap times than an LS1. I'd love to see that...

I think f-bodies handle pretty damn good.
It does have alot to do with driver,...and how they can handle their car ofcourse.
I don't know why anyone with a honda, a car that becomes aerodynamic(ly) unstable above 130mph...would talk **** about an f-body,....a car that in my expereince handles speeds of 170+, without incident. Not just straight line at that but, also long highway corners.....no problems....ever.
ricer's suck.
And so does front wheel drive.

amen, As I agree with Stanger about jap caps being able to mod their suspension as we do (Fbody/domestics). Where we lack in handling, which isnt much, we take it back with more power and straightline performance...

IMO, people who favor a lot of the Honda, BMW, and Nissan cars (among others) over LS1s and Mustangs do so because of how they feel more than the all out performance. I really rarely see someone who thinks imports (which really is a inaccurate label considering where cars are built these day) are the best option here in the states for all out performance. Its more about the feel for them.
I will say though: Lets say your a 20 year old Japanese kid. You dont really speak English. Finding an LS1 is pretty damn impossible. But SR20 parts for the dozen Silvias in your area is as hard as falling into a hole. And the parts are immediately available and cheap. Which way would you go?
Basicly, when it comes to budgeting, where you are matters as much as anything. I just want to more high displacement and force inducted imports. Turbo 5.6 Z anyone

I think its peer pressure, when i lived in south texas, the orientals all lived togather (same neighborhoods) and went to the same churches and same schools...who would want to be "that guy" with the american car? Its kinda a security blanket of sorts me thinks.
