The 2003 and 2004 Cobra came with a factory supercharger and they were UNDER-rated at 390 hp. They make closer to 430 at the crank. A few mods and they will make 600hp easy.
He will flat out stomp your LT1 before you get into 3rd gear.
Just being honest with you.
This thread will be locked anyway since no actual race happened. Good night.

2003 Cobra
Base Engine Size: 4.6 liters
Base Engine Type: V8 Horsepower: 390 hp
Max Horsepower: 6000 rpm Torque: 390 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 3500 rpm
MagikMan is dead right, the LT1's stock #'s wont touch a an 03'
Maybe a Mid 90's Cobra, up until about 98. 99 was the first year with the new "face", although it only had 320 hp, 0-50 in 5.5.
The O3' has the S/c
If he took that S/C off, maybe then you could run him.
Im guessing the 03'Cobra runs low 13's to high 12's.
But im guessing.
The motor isnt as "smooth revving" as the LS1, but has a little more power.
For an LT1 to push that kind of HP, it will need to breathe, and breathe big.
I say build the bottom end for a S/C, put in a nice set of heads/cam, then slap on a Procharger 10 PSI. That outta do it.
( 3.73's, Nice exhaust and nice Sneakers )

If he is really stock without tires or anything at all. Then add a Stall ( if you have a A4) drag tires and a 150 shot of nitrous and you will give him a good race in The 1/4. You will need to get some killer 60 foot's in the 1.6 range so he wont run you down. Again this is if he is bone stock on stock tires.

At my track the fasest stock 03 cobra ran a 13.2..
The fastest Lt1 I ever saw was a 1996 C4 that ran a 13.9 bone stock ( is that LT1 from the 96 Vette the same one found in the camaros???)
Cas Ive never seen any of the LT1 camaros do better than 14.3 stock at my track...
Eighter way...The Cobra is a good second faster than the LT1 stock for stock. But I dont think you need a stroker and blah blah blah like a lot of people said for a stock one..
A 150 shot should be all you would need to have a good race with one.

An LT1 with a solid amount of bolt-ons, gears and DRs, will screw any Cobra up until 2002(excluding the 'R). The 2003 and 2004 Cobras were of course, rated at 390bhp. Bone stock, they easily pull 400rwhp. Bone stock. THe fastest stock one in the world ran a 12.4. And they're called Terminators.
For an LT1 to beat a stock one isn't too hard. Talk to Lloyd Elliot, get your heads ported and polished, a cam, and supporting mods (maybe $1500 if you do it yourself), toss in a few more bolt ons (maybe another $1ks worth), then get some gears (at least 4.10s), DRs, and probably a new rearend (you'll break it). Learn to drive it and kiss that Slobra good-bye. You should have a solid 400rwhp. And you weigh less and don't have an IRS. Just pray the Cobra doesn't mod.

But this new info changes everything.
A 4.6 SOHC does not generate the torque the LT1 does.
If you have an M6, it will be a close race, even though your a 93-97, and he is a 03'. That by itself is impressive.
I am not sure the 1/4 for a 4.6 SOHC, but if its an Auto, im sure its around high 13's, low 14's.
I think if youre an A4, a nice intake, exhaust, gears( 3.42's or 3.73's) and stall will crush him.
One of my distant cousins had a 99 GT 4.6 Auto, and he said my Z would take him.
Either way, a couple bolts on should have you there. ( IMO )

do some damn research, i just got done reading the sticky at the top of this section. PEOPLE DO SOME DAMN RESEARCH. some of you ask the stupidest questions. a stock lt1 would get worked hard by a stock 03-04 cobra.
