cammed 306 vs my 98 TA
hey guys, i need some help here, a friend of mine wants me to race this 17 yr old kid wednesday night. He has a 1990 mustang GT, 5 speed, with a 306, cam and exhaust. he also has 3.73s and drag radials (he says he dont hook for **** tho) (his weight with him in car is 3290lbs. Im at 3700lbs he claims low 13s high 12s to everyone, But he told me that his best at the track, spinning into 2nd he ran a 13.2 @ 103.74 with a 2.0 60'
We're gonna go from a dig and a roll, im gonna say like 40 or 50mph
I'm on street tires. they dont do bad tho
My mods are in sig

I don't know but I think it will be tough my dad, uncle and most of my friends are diehard ford fans and those little 5.0' s are light and quick my dad's 1990
notchback LX went 12.0's at 112 with a 306 h/c/i untuned and 10.40's at 129 on a 175 shot and his 60' ft sucked where most fox bodies shine and a few guy's that I know with mildly built one's will take my 99 T/A but those have DR's to my reguler radials and my car spins like hell and is just about stock but from what your sig says your car is pretty fast and it will take a built one to beat you but don't let him jump you to from a dig because most N/A 5.0 fox body's are fast from a dig but they don't have a lot of top end so good luck I think you'll take him if he has a mild setup because my dad had a race set up and they don't have a lot of CI's to work with N/A.

I raced a fox body with a 306 a couple of months ago before i got my stall TC. He said he ran high 12's. I don't know what I run in the 1/4, but he got owned by like 4-5 cars each time we ran . I'd hate to see the outcome now (with the TC). Definitely make the race a long one so if he gets the jump you can pull him in.

I know a guy who has a 90 GT and his best time out of the old motor (stock shortblock) was a 12.66 @106mph running a B303 cam with 1.7's, mildly ported stock heads, 3.55's, headers, flowmasters, and nittos on a stock tune maybe with a little more timing advance.

i think you'll get him unless he's sandbagging. Im suppossed to run a full bolt-ons, suspension worked, cammed/sprayed 5.0L 5sp tonight in my TA but this guy says he's only gone 8.30s in the 1/8 on the bottle which seems a lil slow to me unless he's lying and ran it off the juice. Anyway we are both going from a dig tonight. He's rolling 275/60 15in MT DRs in back w/ skinnes up front and im running 275/40 MT DRs out back. This one WILL be recorded and put up win or lose
