silly fake evo, body kits are for b*tches.
So I'm cruising home last night on the freeway and out of the corner of my eye I see a huge *** Evo wing coming down the on-ramp... I'm thinking.... great an EVO, me with the t-tops on and all aerodynamic and ****, and him with some nasty drivetrain loss
So I am kinda trying to manuever to get near him to see if it's an evo 8 or 9... and he gets off the freeway so I follow..
Now we're at a stoplight on the offramp, and I still can't tell because I can't see his hood (the evo's have a cut-out on the hood for the top mount), but this dude is body kitted out. Has exhaust, but I seriously just can't tell.
So here's the good part - we roll out and when we straighten out he stands on it, and so do I, about 25-30mph in first, blow the tires off, click second and see his headlights in the rear view. . . so I just let off about 60. I let him catch up and he blows by me. I finally come up to him again and roll my window down and say "What's with the wanna-be-Evo?" He just looks at me like "wtf" and I say "I thought that thing was gonna be a good race, glad I wasted the 50 cents in gas!" and drove off.
Now for the GREAT part... I see this ****** as I'm pulling into school and I don't think he recognized me because he threw a rev at me

oh **** you're right they do have a fmic... christ i don't pay attention to ****. Stil not sure what that hole is for though

Thank you for shutting down a poser. Thats just just bad. The Lancer and the Evo have less in c ommon than a V6 Mustang and a Terminator. Friggin ricer toolbags.
As far as the hole in the hood, its for cooling. If you look at where the turbo is placed on Evos, DSM, etc, its right behind the radiator. Between the turbine side of the turbo and the radiator that whole area gets hot as hell. By putting the vent in the hood right over that reigon you get some big cooling benefits. To the point that not only do you help keep the enigne cool (and 4 cylinders tend to run hotter than V8s anyway) you significantly improve intake air temps, which is a big help to performance. A lot of DSMers are starting to do custom vents in the same place and reporting good results. 2G guys can get a stencil and do it themselfs even.
