Another Evo bites the dust
Saturday night while crusing back on I95 from a car hang out came apon an EVO. MY friend told me i should pull up beside him and downshift to see if he wanted to race. We went a couple times from a 35-40 mile roll. Even with an extra passanger i still put two car lengths on him. Im pretty sure the evo was stock. my o2ss is stock as well.

it was mitsubishiforum.com, sorry not an "evo" forum, but same difference, i actually think the cars are cool but seems like a lot of the owners on there are kind of cocky imo

No doubt this kid was as clueless as most import owners I have met. If you are running 14's in an ls1 powered car then you need driving lessons.

I was reading that thread on the mitsuforum. The guys claims that 03-04 EVOs run high 13s, 05's run 13.1, and 06's run in the high 12's off the showroom floor. Is that accurate? I don't know much about EVOs and I'll be the first to admit it! Just curious is all, cuz those are some insane times!

^those are a bit optimistic Bannana'. The IXs are siginificantly faster than the VIIIs though. At sea level, nice track, stard conditions etc I would expect mid to high 13s from a VIII and mid to low 13s for a IX. Driven like crazy by a great driver maybe 12s, but rare, just like with an LS1.

'03-'04 VIII's are mid-high 13's, '05 VIII's are mid to low 13's, and IX's are low 13's to high 12's. IX's also trap 2-4mph higher. I believe the record for a stock IX is a high 12.7 or low 12.8.
As with any car its all up to the driver though, the 60' makes or breaks the 1/4.

On what, a 5% sloped downhill track with a professional driver and a tailwind? Sounds like total bull to me, lets be realistic here.
I don't care what kind of Evo it is, those cars aren't that powerful to pull those kinds of times, even with the AWD launch.

They trap 104-106, I ran a 12.3@108, whats not to believe? They dyno as high as 275whp depending on the dyno type.
