Default First run in with a Terminator..

Well while i was in the city saturday night, i was stoped by a light, and long behold the cobra i was admiring 3 blocks before ended up next to me. We were at the light, just talking about what was done, I'm stock, he had bassani exhaust and KN intake, stock blower. We start staging, light goes green and we go. I hear his blower start whining, but hes tires were also, and he had to let up, allowing me to get about 1.5 lengths on him. I slam second, and all of a sudden I hear his exhaust roar, and the blower scream as he damn near flys past me. I let up at about 4k in second gear, and he had around 6 lengths on me. I knew they were fast, and I knew I was going to lose, but I was still surprised by how his second gear pulled me that bad. I also had 2 alpine type r's in my subthump box, and another person in the car, so that could be why I lost by that much....but a damn fast car regardlesss.

Nice death. No shame in losing to a '03-'04 Cobra. Time to get some mods.

Hell yea time to get some mods. And i couldn't kick one of my friends out...not 75 miles from home lol. My car feels so much slower back home, I raced the cobra at about 3k elevation, my town is up at like 5k. Can't wait to go to Phoenix and see how it really is at the low altitudes

Thanks. I knew i was gonna lose, but still gets to me that bad lol. Those are honestly the only mustangs i respect. 4v cobras, s/c'd or not, are bad *** cars, and i would love to have a Term. Something about that supercharger screaming at 5k rpms gets to me..

Its easy to only tell 2 mods that you have. If you heard his supercharger that loud then more than likely he had a pulley sway. Stock the Eatons aren't loud. Hell that reminds me of one time when I was sitting at a redlight and a guy in a Fox body rolled up next to me and said "Damn...what has that thing got done to it?!" and I replied with "Its got mufflers..." while my car was sitting there whinning from the centri blower. LOL I got him to laugh though.

an 01/02 bolt-on/modded ls1 w/headers + tune should get you about 400 crank.

cam only and you'll be back in the game.

Yea, i want H/C, but im in highschool and don't make much money lol. For sure, within the next couple months, lid, LT's, true duels, cut outs, lighter pullies (gotta research weather that would be bad with high watt stereo system), and tune. Maybe electric water pump, but got to research that also. Shooting for 350 at the wheels with these bolt ons, then I'm gonna start worring about the rear end and clutch. Thinking Z06 clutch atleast, s60 rear end and 4.10's.

what year/model car do you have? You may want to look into an ls6 intake also.

99 T/A. m6. I was gonna worry about the intake when it comes time for heads and cams. I'm very interested in the FAST 90/90, especially looking at it in person at the NHRA races friday. But those intakes are for madly modded cars...and thats I was looking into them

with the mods you listed you should be right around 350 to the wheels. definetely need the intake though. you can get a satin holley for less than four hundred brand new. you just have to look around

ls2 or ls6 intakes help that much? Even to bolt on cars? Time to really start looking at intakes then...

the intake manifold would be a good overall upgrade.. theres close to 1000hp F/I cars running ls6 intakes. the 90/90 is well known to the H/C community.

but the ls6 is relatively cheap and with that + lid + CAI + headers + cutout will add up nicely.

that's not true about the Eaton's not being loud. I've driven a stock (down the paper filter) '04 Cobra and that thing SCREAMED. Give 'em a K&N and you'll really hear it scream. i had a '93 Thunderbird SC and that thing screamed. I put on a K&N and i could have my buddy hammer it from just over 1 mile away and i could hear it loud and clear. Nice death by the way. They are VERY nice car's and the Only mustang i'd own, ever...~Cole~

Dude, stock they aren't loud at all. You can hardly hear them. With a cone filter you can tell they are there. With a pulley the damn car sounds like a firetruck with a stuck siren.

Yea, this cobra had a K&N intake, and possibly smaller pully...didn't have time to ask about that. Regardless, 12 second car stock is awesome.
