Default C5 Rotor Conversion Package for 1993-2002 F-Bodies!!!

Hey everyone! Well, I put my waterjet guy and metric contact to good use by developing a conversion kit (brackets, spacers, bolts and washers) for 1993-2002 F-Bodies (some modification to spindle required on some models, do a search, plenty of detailed write-ups and it is super easy) that allows you to use the larger C5 front rotors while still retaining your stock calipers.

I also teamed up with a former LS1tech sponsor to be able to offer cross drilled and slotted C5 rotors to go with the brackets

These will be for sale on my website for $375 + shipping BUT to get some out there and on some cars I am offering a sale to kick off my brake line (pun intended)...

From now untill the end of the year (under a week ) you get them CHEAP... You get both rotors and conversion kits for only $325 SHIPPED!!!

Here's what the rotors look like...

and here's (basically, I added slots for weight savings) what the conversion kits look like...

Here's a bunch of parts about to go on a friend's car (I can get anything you see in the pic that you want, just PM me)...

So, once again, for a limited time only SAVE $50 AND SHIPPING COSTS you only pay $325 SHIPPED for both front C5 drilled and slotted rotors AND the neccessary conversion brackets.

Just paypal $325 to madelisle@yahoo.com and put "C5 Conversion PACKAGE" in the note... Thanks and Happy Holidays!!!

Here's the official sale thread... https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-s...l#post10731757

I forgot to mention, YOU DO NOT have to cut stock spindles for this design, they bolt right on

Other manufacturerers' brackets you have to cut/grind spindles... Of course, for 1993-1997's you would want to upgrade to the LS1 spindles

What are the brackets made of? How thick are they?
Any kind of testing done?

Brackets are steel... What type of testing? I mean they have been bolted on and driven hard with no problems...

I can get a set waterjet cut (bare metal), machined (aluminum spacers) and all the hardware (bolts washers) assembled and shipped to you when I get back on the 2nd. Price would be $160 shipped ($150 + $10 shipping). If in Cali add sales tax...

So this kit is for the C5 rotor on the stock F body caliper. How would that fit? I'm thinking that due to the larger diameter of the C5 rotor the stock caliper wouldn't fit as well/correctly as it was designed for a smaller rotor.

Thats what the bracket is for, it moves the caliper out making room for a larger diameter rotor.

No not that, I understand the use of the bracket.
Hmm not really sure how to describe this...
the stock caliper is desinged to fit on a stock diameter rotor, therefore when you replace the stock rotor with a larger diameter rotor like the C5 rotor wouldnt there be an issue with the caliper fitting on the new larger rotor?
I really dont know just throwing it out there, either way this kit is literally half the price of some others out there, and looks pretty damn good to boot!

You mean the arc of the rotor is too shallow to allow the brake pad to seat fully on the rotor? That is a job of the bracket. I have seen some brackets that would leave a slight overhang and the pad would wear funny. There was no issue, just there was this thin wafer left on the outer edge of the pad.

The bigger question would be can new pads installed inside the stock F-Car caliper fit over a 1/4" thicker C5 rotor. I imagine most will. But, performance pads used in road racing are typically thicker. For instance, Carbotech XP16s are an endurance pad and quite a bit thicker.

The C5 calipers are no issue.

If I bought this kit, I would do so making sure the vendor understood and was willing to take back the kit if there was a problem.

FWIW, I prototyped LG Motorsports brackets they introduced 7-8 years ago.

I have run:
F-Car Calipers with F-Car pads on C5 rotors and F-Car abutment brackets. The abutment bracket would rub the inner hub of the rotor
F-Car Calipers with C5 pads on C5 rotors and C5 abutment brackets. Some pads wouldn't fit over the thicker rotors.
C5 calipers with F-Car pads on C5 rotors and C5 abutment brackets.
C5 calipers with C5 pads on C5 rotors and C5 abutment brackets.

Even when you run the C5 calipers you still use the F-body bracket... We also sell stuff as a kit (we can match the brake pad to the kit) so there wouldn't be anything "not working" to return unless the consumer tried something not recommended...

Is there any clearance issues when running this kit on a stock 17" 10 spoke?

I'm really interested in the brackets, since I cant afford the whole kit yet.

Also, would there by any future clearance issues if I swapped to C6 - GTO calipers down the line? and again I'm talking about issues under the stock 10 spoke?

So how much for just the brackets? I'm in if all looks good.

Stock 10 spokes are fine. The TTII's curve in, hence the issue. I could get you a set of brackets alone for $150... I don't know the answer to the C6 question though...
