boxed vs tubular subframe connectors
im just wondering what everybody is running and why.
on my z28 i had tubular SFCs. i just picked up a 99 ta thats basically stock so im about to start ordering crap for it
i think this time im going to get boxed, just cuz i had tubular on my last car. i dont think it makes much of a difference.

Strength wise they are probably the same, seems like the tubular offer a little better ground clearance as they are more formed to the under side of the car from pics I have seen of installs. As for the boxed that is what I have on my own car and what I have installed for others makes adding suspension mods such as a weld in torque arm much easier and can also be tied into floor plates should you ever decide to have a full cage put in the car later on.

Umi
I ended up getting rid of my BMR's and bought a set of the UMI 3 point bolt in's and welded !! and installed the UMI tunnel brace after which helped tied everything in together The SS is so much tighter now !

Mine are boxed, custom made and welded in by a local guy. I don't know if there's a difference between the two or not, but there is a huge difference between an Fbody with them and one with out. Take the advice of everyone here and get them on your car. You'll be glad you did!

SFC's
Thanks and we are glad that you are happy with our product. There are alot of people that are worried about the weight between tubular and boxed SFC's but when you are looking for solidness, I would recommend tubular. If you have any other questions or problem feel free to ask. Just some food for thought!

For drag racing, yeah I'd probably want to get some good SFCs especially if the setup was causing the car not to leave too straight.
