rear shocks are easy to remove.

the nuts/bolts are on the top under the hatch carpet like right behind the rear seats.

its real easy to get to the top.

Me too -- haven't looked yet, but read you need to completely remove the seatbelt bracket to get any access to the nut...

Here's what someone else said on LS1.com:
The access for them are right behind where your back seat rests, so fold it down. Now that your seat is down look about 2 - 3 inches below where your seatbelt housings are. You will feel a soft spot in the carpet and there will be some perforated slits in the carpet. If you don't want to cut your carpet, take the whole seatbelt assembly apart from under the carpet and then fold your carpet forward. I opted not to do so because it wouldn't have gained me any room since my sub box is at precisely the same height and folding the carpet forward would infact lose me room unless I took out the subbox which was more work then I was ready for. So I cut the slits open, dug around in there moved the foam and started taking the nuts off.

Here's a write-up -- but not convertible specific:

Yes they do. . . . Super easy to get to!

Fold the back seat back down . . and basically near and below the two seat belt upper mounts you will find, a small 3 sided square of perforation marks in the carpet, with a very sharp knife cut the remainder open and make little "doors" in the carpet. There should be a wad of foam, remove it, and you will see the shock top.

just be weary - if you release the top nuts of the shocks, the who rear end will fall, as the only thing connecting it to the body is the lca's and torque arm/drive shaft...

^ Nice, thanks for the pics!

One note on the above, the perforations are only horizontal -- just cut all the way behind the plastic -- remove the latches with the T-50 and you can get your box cutter or scissors back there.
