Really? I know the LS1 kit has issues but I had the LT1 kit on my 97 before I switched to stranos and they seemed fine. Not as good as the Stranos, but they didn't seem terrible or anything. The stance as half-decent amd I honestly can't speak to exactly how they ride because I went from Eibach pro-kit/worn out stock shocks to Stranos/Konis, but my terrible ride with the Eibachs seemed to have a lot more to do with the shocks than the springs. All that said I would only consider them for a really great deal. Strano/KYB is a pretty good bang for the buck combo IMO if you're not looking to spend the cash on Konis. I think the Konis are worth saving for, but the KYBs aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

don't do it.
prokit looks good, and handles a bit better than stock, but that's about it. it rides like utter ****. the rears bottomed out on everything to the point where my factory cd player skipped. i ended up swapping my stock rear springs back in with the hose mod. imo, a nice looking stance, but still lacking in ride and handling. if you care even the slightest about ride quality and handling, save up and at the very least get better shocks.
i'll be getting rid of my prokit and bilsteins this summer for a better setup.

I've been running this setup for 2 years and no problems. The setup came as a factory option on my car, and my friends z28 has all the stock stuff. I can tell you the ride is firmer but not harsh at all. I'm sure there are better setups out there, but everything comes with a larger price tag. When my shocks went, I replaced them with exactly what was on there. The setup is exactly what I wanted, but you need to really think about what you're going to be doing with the car and some of the mods down the line that you might want

I've got the bilstein springs and shocks from the factory. They were an option on my 1999 and I'm very happy with the setup. Everyone who has ever driven my 1999 SS comments on how super it handles, very responsive and very solid. The only drawback at all is the lowered ground clearance which I only made worse with SLP long tube headers. I avoid speed bumps at all costs, but love the way it handles.

For daily driving and the occasional trip to the strip, Tokicos or Konis would be fine. If you're looking for something more geared twords drag use then the Strange single or double adjustables would be your best bet.

I was thinking the same thing, however, I think you have to consider whether the car in question is an LT-1 or LS-1. It seems that the Eibach LS-1 front springs weren't as well matched to the application as the LT-1 set.
Having said that, I installed the Eibach Pro-Kit on my '96 Z-28 back in February of '96. Due to budgetary constraints, I used the OE shocks for a few years. Bottom line, the ride wasn't all that good. However, I put a set of the SLP Bilsteins in the car 7-8 years ago, and they dramatically changed the way the car rode. Much smoother and more controlled.
