Default strano/kyb, what settings for traction?

i recently put on strano spring and kyb front and rear shocks. i was curious what would be a good starting point for straight line traction? i would assume stiffer in the rear and softer in the front. i also have relocation brackets, tunnel mounted torque arm, etc. i am just looking for a good starting point for straight line traction.

I'm interested to see Sam's opinion on the settings. I'm thinking of buying these shocks as well, as I already have the Strano springs on order.

well you would actually want softer in the rear and stiffer in the front to allow weight transfer instead of the drivetrain being shocks and spinning. i think? lol

I'm no expert on drag racing. But I think you should maybe do a google on general drag racing suspension tuning. I would think going as stiff as you could in the rear would hurt traction in most situations, aka the stiffer you go the earlier you'd break free. That might be different depending on what kind of setup you have though.

You could also ask in the drag racing section in case there's any experts in there who've run KYB's. In any case the KYB AGX adjusts both compression and rebound with the same ****. So chances are you'll have to find a medium that you may have to comprimise the ideal bump and rebound setting.

I was pulling 1.9 60's with the rear on 8 (stiffest setting) on street tires. That was on eibach's w/ no lca brackets.

+1, soft in the rear, stiff in the front.

You want the car to rock back to aid weight transfer. Stiff front settings will help lift the nose on the launch, soft rear settings will help the back drop.

Ok, are you ready for your answer?????????????

It depends. Seriously. Every car, driver, track prep, etc is different. I can tell you for weight transfer you wouldn't want the front stiff (that will slow transfer to the rear). But there are times when cars are slowing having too quick/fast/much and a bog results. Rear shocks are a big question mark. Do you run them stiffer to try and plant the rear tires harder? Do you run them softer to promote weight transfer? I don't have an answer there, and particularly with KYB's you are always compromised as you are adjusting both compression and rebound at the same time. Might want more of one, but less of the other....

Loose up front and as stiff in the rear as traction allows... for a true drag setup you would want double adjustable, but singles are better than nothing..
