I like my Strange front springs, single adjustables on all corners and BMR rear lowering springs... With a little more tuning the car will cut a 1.5X 60' and it still drives quite well on the street...

For the money, Strange drag shocks/springs are a very good choice for drag configurations. I'd highly suggest a double adjustable configuration if your finances allow it.

You can view choices listed on our website at: http://www.sjmmanufacturing.com/cam_sus_ls1.html#Shocks

Give us a call tomorrow if you have questions or concerns.

Hello, for the money the Strange shocks are the better value. I would go with the 300lb spring since you do some street driving. The Strange shocks work very well for the street/strip vehicle. We have several employees that have had the Strange shocks on their cars for several years with no issues. The shocks are a direct bolt in. If you have any questions please give me a call.

Strange offers two style drag shocks. One uses a progressive rate spring (I suppose you can call it their street/strip setup), the other uses a linear rate 2.5" spring. The latter is more geared towards a drag only configuration.

I agree with BMR, though we can offer you both QA1 or Strange, we prefer Strange products over QA1. If you prefer QA1, give us a call, we do not list them on our website.

And if you are tight in the wallet, I have stock rear springs and Competition Engineering rear shocks that work decent on a 3400lb,drag radial, 400rwhp, 4500 stalled car.

But I do wish I had Strange.

Take a look at AFCO as well. They are the best setup for the F Body.

You won't reuse your stock front springs. The drag shocks have an adjustable spring perch to adjust the height of your car.

Thumbs up Afco's

Just bought a set of double adjustable Afco's front and rear. After much research it seems the Afco's are used on most of the quickest and fastest F bodies. Purchased mine from Madman and they were great in explaining the pros and cons between the Afco's and Strange shocks. Just my $0.02. Oh yeah and I went with a 14" 300lbs spring.

AFCO's are definitely the best shock on the market for f-body drag racing. We have been working with AFCO for 10+ years to get the correct valving and spring rate, and i'd say we have it down to a fine art. They are on the pricey side, but once you buy a set, you'll never have to buy another shock again. They have great customer service, and can revalve your shock at any time. Give me a call at the shop if you are interested in buying a set, or have any questions. I'll be happy to help. Our phone number is 225-673-3533.
Thanks

the front shocks for the f-body are made a bit differently than the basic AFCO double adjustable. The upper adjustment **** is made around the the piston, like this.

This is easily accessible on most cars. Sometimes you might have to jack the car up a little bit, so you can get your arm between the tire and the fender. The lower adjustment **** can be accessed by laying down and reaching behind the wheel.
