Default C5 or C6 upgrade for LT1 brakes

I've been doing some searching and there is a ton of info out there but haven’t found the exact info I'm looking for. I'm about to purchase new wheels (C5 Deep dish 18X10.5 and 17X9.5) from OE wheels. I want to upgrade the front brakes for both cosmetic and function purposes.

My questions are:

-What is the difference between C5 and C6 brake setup?

-I'm looking at a set of Bob Bishop brackets, will they also work with the C6 setup?

-The C5 rotors are 13 inch correct? What size are the C6 rotors and will it fit behind a 17 inch wheel?

-If I do the C5 upgrade will there be any brake bias towards the front?

-Last, if I purchase the Bob Bishop brackets, used complete C5 calipers, and rotors/pads will I need anything else? Will my LT1 brake lines work?

Thanks for the help guys.

c5 and base c6 front brakes are nearly identical. c6 calipers are supposedly a better design than c5 calipers

Unsure. I used UMI brackets for my conversion.

c5 and base c6 rotors are the same. They fit many styles of 17" rims.

Yes, but that's a good thing.

You need conversion brackets (and need to cut your stock spindle), bolts for the brackets and for the abutment brackets (UMI sells the bolts as a kit for $20), base/z06 c5 or base c6 calipers and abutment brackets, pads/rotors, brake lines. LT1 lines are much too short. I used base c6 brake lines as they are 18". I would recommend base c6 calipers over the c5 calipers.

Upgrading your rear brakes to LS1 brakes will help with some of the bias also.

More front bias is only good of you need more front bias.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the C6 upgrade is what I will be looking for. Where is the best place to buy the C6 calipers? Just wait for some nice used ones? Don't the LS1 rears have a better E-brake? My LT1 rears and e-brake never seem to work correctly.

The LS1 rear brakes have a drum parking brake inside the hat of the rotor.

And on the C6 brakes, need to look at the standard brakes not the Z51, since that rotor will not fit behind a 17" wheel.
