Power steering rack without PS pump?
Is it possible to run a stock LS1 power steering rack without the pump ad all that stuff?
I'd like to save some change on my LS swap and running just the rack, if I can, would save a lot of money.
If anyone has done this, how well does it steer at low speeds?

well i have a transam and when i run it out at our street races i usually run a shorter belt so i can bypass the pump itself because it frees up some power but it as far as steering at low speeds it does alright, its not the funest thing to steer but its not to hard but thats just my opinon

Screw it, today I found a rack on a junkyard 98 V6 that'll work, I'll buy it for 20 bucks and run it without power.
I remember when the PS in my 78 bronco went out it was fine above 15, so in a light Camaro it should be fine. Here's hoping.
