strano springs on stock shocks dd
So in the spring i am buying some 18 c6 z06 deep dish rims and i know my car will look like a 4x4 with them on stock ride height. I want to lower my car and i am going to being going with strano springs. Do you think i can last a month or 2 on the stock shocks in till i save up the dough to buy the koni's. I'm a poor college kid... I only drive 3 miles to work and 4 miles to school. My car only has 42k miles so the stock shocks aren't shot yet.

If you plan to change the springs yourself, keep into consideration the common setback where your top shock shaft nut could be rusted permanantly to the shock. If you have to reuse the stock shock in that case, that would be a huge headache in my opinion.
Your shocks could be shot, you may not know it. If you can hold off and save for a decent set of shocks, that would be my recommendation. If you can't wait, just make sure you know of the little obstacles you could run into.

Yea i plan on buying konis. Even though they are more if you think about it its like an extra check or 2 and you get the best shocks out there. I love my camaro so i am not gonna buy the decent stuff for it. I guess ill just wait to do the springs and shocks at once. Instead of doing springs first then in about a month buy the springs.

Another vote for doing it all at once. As the other guy mentioned about the front shock shaft...might want to get new shock mounts, that way it won't matter if your stock one is rusted shut.
My driver side was in great shape, but my passenger side was a bit rusty, but I was able to clean it up. If I had to do it over again, I would have just gotten new mounts.

Yes you can do this. May not ride very well but you can still drive the car. I did mine the other way around. I'm running Konis on factory springs and when my stranos come in from backorder I'll be installing them.

Anyone else want to chime in on this?

One of mine was rusted on. I packed that area with some grease on reinstallation so no rusty nut next time.
I think a month, or two, or three, will be fine. They will kill the stockers faster but a couple months should be fine.

Front shocks is one of those things you want to do only once.
Rears are whole different story. I think I changed both of my rear shocks under an hour.
If you are going for stance & performance, Wheels are the last piece of the puzzle IMO.
I'd get Koni shocks and [brand] springs , then aim for the wheels later.
You 'll enjoy your car more with good suspension, even if it is on stock wheels for time being.
If you want it all , then billesteins, springs and wheels would be on your list.
