vogtland lowering springs? SLP bilstein shocks.
So I found a deal locally on some vogtland lowering springs, what I want to know if they drop whats advertised or do they go lower? Are they good for $100? Also do I have to reuse stock shock components with the SLP bilstein shock like the hds?
Thanks

Vogtland have reputation for being a well made spring. I don't know if they still do but they used to produce Sam Strano's springs for him.
He says the rates are a bit backwards for his liking (to stiff in the rear). But as far as quality I know of people that ran them for years with no issue (but not their fbody springs).
These are two pictures I grabbed off google images real fast.

I would pick them up for that price. If your getting the shocks new then yes you'll have to take the hardware off your stock shocks.

They bottomed out on everything. I mean, everything! I hose modded some stock springs to replace the rear vogtlands and instantly loved the ride again. I still have the vogtlands on the front and the only reason theyre not in a dumpster yet is that my funds are tied up in a shortblock right now.
Why do I hate them? I don't know, maybe because they don't really function as a spring... I'd rather have cut stock springs.

In my opinion, 100 isn't too bad. Stranos rates in the front are a stiffer.. rears less stiff. If you are like many people here and don't care too much about rates and want a little bit of a drop, they might be a good choice for you. Vogtland's spring material quality is second to none. Their drops are consistent and material is lightweight but just as strong as any other spring.

Yeah, what you read is wrong. Mine are stiffer in front, softer in the back. There are some flat out lies spread out there by other vendors regarding my springs because I had them made by Vogtland--they just claimed they were relabeled Vogtlands and THAT is completely untrue. Strano Springs are their own design.
