Default Upper control arm support?

Anyone ever found one of these or have a pn? Its item #3 on the attached pic. Mine are rusted pretty badly and would like to replace.

Oh i had the same thing! mine was extremely bad, literally flaking apart when i did shocks.. i got one from a guy around here that parts camaros and the one i got was just surface rust, so it works great. Im sure you can get one at the dealer

I always take them to the wire wheel and get all the nasty stuff off that you can. Coat it in paint or Por15 and then throw it back tougher.

You cannot buy it by itself you have to buy item #8 which comes with a new upper control arm already bolted up to it with a new upper ball joint. I know because I just bought one for my camaro. I just took the control arm off and used the strut mounting plate.

I still think one of our sponsors (UMI? Founders? Somebody?) should make new plates. Common problem, only going to get worse as these cars age, and it should be relatively cheap to make as it looks like it is just stamped steel.

So when you take the strut mount off the shock, is that the only piece that comes off? Why I ask is I bought new strut mounts and have new springs and shocks and the nuts that hold it on, if there is not then I am not going to take the stock ones apart.
