Default Popping noise in rear

I have this annoying popping/clunk noise coming from what appears to be the passenger rear. Seems to only do it over "sharp" bumps while going straight or sometimes entering a driveway as the axle articulates. My exhaust is not hitting anything and the noise is not a "clang" as I would describe a metal on metal noise.

If there is a "swooping" bump or while going around a corner, no noise.

I have a funny feeling it may be my adj. PHB. My guess may be while going straight there is no side to side force on the PHB so the end link collar ID's are fee to "float" around the bolt OD's. Even though the bolts seem tight.

I have checked the bolts at both ends of the rear LCA's and are tight.

I can't hear anything when I grab and wiggle it though. I know this isn't a luxury car, but damn it sounds like a POS with this noise.

The rest of the suspension is stock with 58K mi on it. Brake calipers are tight

Anyone else have similar issues?

Thanks guys

It could be your swaybar end link bushings, its an easy check.

Thanks. I'm going to double check the shock lower bolts (have not been replaced since I had to cut the carpet to access the top bolts), both PHB end, TA at diff, and now sway bar end links.

That's good that it was an easy fix.

The PHB and LCA mount tabs are not real robust and
after a few tightens, may end up where you have
compression only against the ferrule and not the
rubber. Then things get to bangin'. I had to pound
my PHB metal back to flat and back it up with a heavy
big fender washer to settle down this kind of thing.

Hmm my PHB mount on passenger side wasn't completely straight..

Good idea, I'll try this
