Burkhart Drop Spindles - What wheels/tires fit?
Okay, so brain fart on my part. Installed the drop spindles and 3rd Gen Strange breaks and slapped the 15x3.5 Welds on there for the track in the fall. Now with the nicer weather around I got to put my factory WS6 17x9's and not so much.
Okay, I understand I won't be able to run the 17x9's anymore, sucks but such is life.
I would like to run something other than a 15x3.5 with a M/T front funner on the car. I don't drive it a lot, maybe 1K-1.5K miles a year, but would be nice to have something a bit wider and a bit more stable.
Any input guys?
Thanks!

I tried a bunch and found nothing. I posted the 5-6, 16-17-18" rims i test fit. The spindles upright tube is on the outside of the upper balljoint, so they don't have any rim room really. My racecraft spindles had a lot more room running inside the ball joint like stock. Been stuck running 15x3.5 want to try a 17x4.5 but haven't yet. Watch out for these spindles flexing, I had to re weld and brace mine and others have too.

Then I need to figure out that tire would work on that. Maybe a M/T street front.

Randy,
Yup, that's the setup I have. Except in black lol. Stock height as well.
This is good news. Would you be able to measure the back spacing of your modified wheels? Which tire are you running?
This would be a far better solution than buying $1900 worth of new rims to match.
I have 8 WS6 rims, I'm sure I can have one pair cut down.

The tires that I run upfront are the Hoosiers 26x7.5xR17, Radial
And for the rear Hoosiers DOT 335x35x17 DR. on 11.00" rims

When they cut the rims , they removed from the back only . So if you measure the rim witch is 9" and remove 4" that will give you your offset. But I can measure them tonight and let you know.

Yeah, don't bother measuring, I can take one of mine and measure it, take off 4" and see if it will clear.
Thank you so much!
I run the M&H 28" DR on the back, and they make a 185-55-17 which looks to fit a 17x5 as well so I may got that way to match. God to know there is an alternative!
There appears to be a shop in NJ that can widen rims, I imagine they could narrow them as well.
I am kicking myself for not thinking of this earlier. I've been looking at $1,900 worth of Weld rims and dreading the hit on the wallet.
Thanks!
