Default Need help just bought some adj.strange shocks

Just recently bought a set of used front shocks. They are adjustible coil overs made by strange. I only have the bottom seating with the washers and bearing.it didnt come with a top seating. My question is there supposed to be a top seating as well? Could i use the one off my stock shocks. Or does the spring just rest under there and compress when u lower the car down. Any help is much appreciated. Never delt with coil overs

strange does make "adjustable" shocks that look like OEM struts that you need to use your OEM stock strut hat/mounts on. mostly made for mustangs according to their website. If its an actual coil over, yes, there is supposed to be a top hat that the spring sits in. should be able to contact Strange and get replacement parts.

the problem you are going to have is the diameter of the spring. If you are trying to use the stock or stock-style springs, you will need an adapter to go from the 2.5" coilover seat to the stock size spring. We offer these just for this purpose, they can be found here: http://bmrsuspension.com/index.cfm?p...294&superpro=0

Alternatively, if you want to use a coilover style spring you can either purchase the upper hat to use a standard flat end 2.5" spring, or Qa1 offers springs that are flat at the bottom and use the stock upper mount seat. They can be found here: http://bmrsuspension.com/index.cfm?p...708&superpro=0

let me know if you have any other questions

The picture on the left is using Hypercoil springs using the stock upper position like shown, the other is using a 2.5 coil over spring that has everything to mount it in place.

Your easiest and most likely cheapest bet would to order these.

They look like Hypercoil because of the blue color but exactly what I showed you in the link. An you do not need the upper mount with that spring.

Those are Hypercoil springs designed to use the stock upper seat. You should be good to go. Viking springs are Silver and have a flat top like these:
