Default Roadrace shocks ok for drag racing??

i want my car to still be good at the strip but i want it to handle well since i wot see the strip as much as i will be just driving around

so im thinking about getting either Koni SA 4/3 or Koni SA 4/4 with Strano Springs..

what would be the best set up for mostly just good driving and still a good drag set up??

I'd go with a Koni 4/4 setup for easier adjustability in the rear for swapping setups.

With the right springs and the front adjusters positioned properly, you can reach the adjusters by just turning the steering wheel. With the SA's rebound set on the soft side, the shocks will transfer weight pretty fast. At around 5 to 6 sweeps up from soft, the shock will control body mass for turns.

I'm not sure what you would do with the rear settings in a drag race application.

Pick what you want adjustment wise based on the street. Rear rebound adjustment has not much to do with drag race launching. 4/4's always offer the most flexibility all around.

As for the hooking. A non-issue. I've got customers who haven't hurt their 60's at all with "handling" shocks like Koni's, some have even improved them vs. "drag" shocks. And the springs: Lowering springs are never ideal drag parts. The lower Cg and higher spring rates don't promote weight transfer, which is what we want handling wise which is what lowering springs are really for. This is why drag springs are very long and soft. That said, my springs are not brutally stiff, or ultra-low. They'll work as well as any other well thought out spring for this use, and better than many that are lower and/or significantly stiffer in the rear. I'm up 25% in rear rate vs. stock. Some more than double stock spring rates in the rear.

Yea i already have BMR sways.....made a HUGE difference. I cant wait till i get some springs/shocks on the car though. My car has about 70k on the clock so their starting to get worn out i assume. I am gona go with strano springs and all that myself.

There are a million things you could use, depends on what you want have in the end. While you have swaybars already, they may not be the best things you could be using, or they could be great. Since I don't know what you have or what you want to most change about the car it's hard for me to say.

Koni's are in stock, springs are a few weeks away. I ordered in mid-May, so I should be seeing them soon. Usually about 12 weeks to show up.

What will happen is this: I'll ship the shocks and get them gone (and you can install the rears is you like). I'll backorder the springs, mark them sold and paid, and as soon as the shipment arrives send them out. Oldest orders first.
