Default homemade torque arm relocation bracket

i see that UMI makes a crossmember kit to transfer your torque arm from the tail of an M6 onto their crossmember. i was curious if anybody out there has successfully fabricated some sort of mount onto the stock crossmember to do pretty much the same thing for alot less money. i think their product looks top notch but i have just dumped about 4 grand or so into this car in the past 2 months and i'm trying to save as much money as possible. i think i'm going to give it a try when i get back home. thanks.

I would like to see one that sandwiches between the trans
and the trans mount (1/4" longer bolts) so the trans mass and
the rubber keep the vibration down, but keep the torque off
the side of the tailhousing. How to make an L shape strong /
stiff enough for the several hundred pounds of torque arm end
force, is the trick. Maybe there is room for some ribs & gussets.
You would have to shim down the cropssmember by the same
thickness at the outboard mount-points but that's easy.
