Default K-member kits

Hey listen don't bash me to much for not using the search, but I am at work and don't have a lot of time. My question is which k-member including upper and lower control arms will give me the most weight savings? Thanks

You don't want weight savings if you plan to DD or AutoX your car. You want a K-member done correctly, that is not going to crack later on down the line. Stick with the stock K-member or go with the (UMI?) RoadRacing K-member with proper support bracing...

Where did he say anything about AutoX or driving like a maniac on the street? Some people like to drag race and just want the most weight savings. A few make good k-members for drag racing that can save a bunch of weight and arn't going to break just cruising down the road. I'm going with spohn because it saves a good bit of weight but still looks to be pretty strong. If you do plan to AutoX or drive like a maniac on the street then I would recommend UMI. They have one built for that but you won't save as much weight.

I'm also interested if anyone has a break down on how much they all way for comparison.

I just put the road race version UMI in and I can tell you there is a considerable weght savings over the stock unit. Has to be 30-40 lbs. And it is beefy plus give you several inches more room. The lower A-arms saved some weight too, but the uppers are about a wash from what I've heard.

(no pics with the motor installed, but I posted pics of the K-member installed)

There is other stuff in the thread so you'll have to look towards the end.

Lee, could you make the k-member with solid motor mounts? That's one reason I'm looking at spohn over yours, plus I found a really good price on the spohn unit. Could you pm me a price for just the k-member with solid motor mounts, I already have the a-arms.
Thanks,
Lou

Yeah the car is for straight line driving. Though I do drive it on the streets but slow and normal and just on the weekends. Anyway thinks for the post I think I am going to go with BMR, it seems to save the most weight.
