People uesd to do this alot when these cars first came out and parts were more expensive. They work fine but you still need to change the bushing materials to get the most out of them.

I just went to the local sheet metal fabrication shop, and they had all sorts of flat stock around. They cut a couple of 1/8" strips and welded them to the open side of the LCAs.

They worked OK, but a couple years later, I had some spare time at work, during a slowdown, and we had some round tubing left over from a job we contracted. So, I took some measurements, fired up the lathe and Bridgeport, and fabbed up a pair of round tubing LCAs.......

I have a pair of boxed stockers that I swapped
the 1LE solid rubber bushings into, they're quiet
and solid which is about all you can ask for.

I agree with the 1LE rubber bushings, as they're what I have in my "custom" tubular arms.

They're also the same bushings that Moog sells as OE replacements.
