Picked up new c5 wheels, need to ether sand blast or wetsand info please..
Like i said i just picked up a set of magnesium c5 wheels for $150 bucks all gm stamped, one is brand new. The other 3 were painted black, but the guy had been wet sanding them and trying to get them cleaned up. What would be the cheap way to clean these up?
How much am i looking at to get them sand blasted and painted ether to the stock tanish brown color, or all painted black?
All info will help thanks..

paint thinner isn't going to take it off. maybe some laquer thinner?
i would buy the aircraft stripper in the spray can. i had great luck stripping a set of painted aluminum wheels. make sure you wash them w/ baking soda or vinegar to neutralize the acid in the stripper before you paint them.

I used paint stripper on my old wheels.
Chroming is pricey now days. You could have them powder coated or repaint them.
I've done the spray paint thing on a set of wheels with decent success. A lot of prep is the key there. But it is still a relatively thin coat and does get rough looking after being exposed to the elements for a while so I wouldn't put out the effort to do that again unless I was going to spray with a gun

yea i tlaked to the powerdcoater around my house, i think im going to put them back to stock color. He told me that he could do it for 79 a wheel that includes, stripping or blasting, and the powerdcoating.
