I wouldn't be so sure. I've run a lightly modded '07 GT a few times and walked him each time. I will say he kept up a lot better than I thought he would though.

Gears and a semi-decent driver will do wonders in an S197 GT. OP, good luck finding a stock LS1 trying to race, the reason most are still stock is because the owners don't race them.

Should look around, owners on here been running high 12s stock. Still would be interesting to see a race between a stock new ss against a modded gt.

Best chance would be against an automatic, that is for sure.

I got 25$ on the SS. I accept paypal!

In all reality its up to the driver. The worst driver can make a 10 second car go 15s. If you find a half *** SS driver I could see the GT holding him off to 120. If you come across a damn good driver in the SS he will prolly get you by a car or so.

A full bolt on's 4.10 gear 3v can go mid 12s on a drag radial. We had a guy over at my site run 12.50s all day long and it was just bolt ons and gear.

Ummm.....considering that CAI/tune 3v's have gone 12.85 with a tire, full bolt-ons with a gear can go low 12's.

yah but im talking in the heat and an average. Im not talking his best run once in a blue moon. He hit as low as 12.38 but majority were 12.4-12.60s and he wasnt COMPLETE full bolt ons. He had full exhaust/cai/tune/4.10s
