Exclamation Cutout Help

I am looking at getting a cutout. Since this is my first time, is there anyone that could give me a bit of advice on cutouts? I'm not sold on spending $400+ on an exhaust right now.

I plan on getting a full exhaust (LTs, ORY, and catback) like in a month or two, but for the meanwhile, I will have to stick to my stock exhaust.

Are the cutouts sold at Texas Speed and such bolted on or welded?

Where is the best place to put it? Before or after the axle?

Any help is appreciated.

Best place is right after the Y pipe.

Welded.

Thanks Pitbull. Is the stock exhaust on the WS6s 2 1/2 inch or 3 inch?

I'm about to order one and want to make sure.

does your car have stock exhaust all the way?
a 2.5 will sound the best if your exhaust is full stock

So 3" or 2 1/2 inch? One says 3, another says 2 1/2.

I'm confused :/

I had a 3" on my car. It worked just fine and that's what most will tell you to get. The stock exhaust is actually 2.75" I believe.

i put a 2.5 on the girlfriends t/a and it sounds great. its a very deep and smooth exhaust note through out the rpm range. its actually alot more tame than i thought it would be, we have never even put the cap on and she was really picky about the car not being loud. When you get on the gas the car gets really loud, but still is very tame for daily driving

I have the 3 and it sounds great, but we cap it on long trips, otherwise your ears will be ringing after you get out lol

exactly. if you look under the car around the rear passenger seat, there's a dip in the body there that's almost like it's made for a cutout. that's where mine's at, and from what i've been told it's the best spot so you gain as much HP as you can without getting too close to the front of the car and losing a lot of torque
