Car Idles At 2000rpm's

Default Car Idles At 2000rpm's

so i replaced the TPS cause my ideal was at 11rpms and now my freaking car is idealing at 2000rpms someone help me i have this car sold if i can fix this problem. Could it be the hole in the trottle plate making it do that? Could it be the mass air flow sensor? someone help guys is waiting to buy but cant figure out the problem

Yeah mine had a crack in one of the vacuum hoses by the tb caused it to idle high also.

i sprayed brake cleaner over the hole motor and it didnt change the idel

Did you try resetting the tps?

If not..

With Key off, unplug the TPS. Turn Key on but do not start. Turn off. Plug in TPS. At next key on you are reset.

ok ill try to reset it but it was idealing at 1300 before i replaced it

Like i said in the old thread hook a scanner up to it and then spray the carb cleaner around and watch the fuel trims. Idle might not change much but you will find your vac leak if there is one.

brake cleaner is supposed to be non-flammable so you may want to use something like starting fluid or carb cleaner. Gumout carb cleaner is very potent and seems to do the trick for me.

Ok guys replaced the tps sensor and reset it like yall told me and it idled fine for about 2-3 min utes then went right back up to 1500-1700 rpms what do yall suggest to do now

Sell the car for $500.00 and be on your way! I have cash in hand LOL. Did you check all of your vacum lines real well.

I was having the same problems with my car. I changed the battery and all my idle and gauge problems. Just have your battery checked.

hey guys thanks for everything got it fixed it was the IAC it was stuck open allowing it to idle real high it had alot of carbon build up and wasnt working properly changed it out back down to 750rpms thanks everyone
