Saying hi with some questions I was wondering the following:
1.) Are there any car clubs that are worth joining?
2.) Any horrible roads I should know about?
3.) What are some nice areas to live in around the Houston area?
4.) Where are some "friendly" inspection stations?
5.) Whats the tint lawin TX?
6.) I have a large cam etc etc....should I be ok with testing requirements (Doubt that its bad as Cali, but have to ask)
Work is transferring me to the area.....

1) I don't know of any
2) Most of them
3) We live between Katy and Cypress, mostly HOA so the neighborhoods are clean. I
do have a house for sale in Dickinson. 1/2 way between Houston and Galveston.
4) Yea right

2) horrible roads? what you mean? pot holes etc? or speed traps? or...?
3) there are a ton of nice places in the greater houston area, it depends on what part of town, what your budget is, commute etc. i live in league city/south shore harbor. which is one of the nicer places around here but its about 25 miles south of down town. the towns that surround me are also quite nice: clear lake, friendswood, pearland etc.
4) they are getting fewer and fewer, but thats ok, thats what fake cats and and good shops are for
5) tint law as far as i know is no tint on the windshield except for the very top, and 5% on the front two windows is illegal(someone correct me if i'm wrong)
6) as long as you aren't throwing any codes your fine. just hope they don't look under your car(are you catless?)
