I installed for a long time, what do you need to know? Adding sensors doesn't have to go through the alarm company, they are all just wired in series and you can just splice into the existing sensor wires, as long as you do it IN SERIES! If you do it parallel both sensors would have to open for the alarm to trigger.

If that doesn't answer the question let me know.

I have been installing for a bit. What system do you have. look a panel inside security box. What all do you want to add? May say on keypad but may just say ADT? Problem with ADT and other big companies is they lock out the programing so you have to go thru them.

They got bought by Tyco but that was several years ago, maybe 14 years. I was still working there at the time so it has been a while.

that is the issue. I dont have the code so that I can add my own stuff (wireless sensors)
I am hoping someone may know the codes or know a way aroudn them. I read through my contract with ADT and it didnt say anything about not doing that.

When you add sensors you will have to add the zones not only on your system, but must also update your zone list with the monitoring station. That way when your system trips the new zones, the monitoring station will know what they are in order to dispatch. May be able to hard wire reset panel and reprogram whole system. Need to know what panel type they installed?
