Question new member having issues

Ok so I bought a 98 Firebird V6 and have already spent ALLOT of money on it I had to replace all the radiator hoses on it, intake manifold seal, waterpump, and now today I came to a stop and the car made a lound clunk and then began to grind as I tried to get the car to move. I had to put it in nuetral to try to get it to move. I'm not even sure what to do with it. I knew getting into this it was going to be a huge financial ordeal but the plan was for me to drive it as a V6 for a while durring school and then once I graduated then I would do allot of the changes to it. I don't know if it was the rear end or the transmission. If it is the transmition can I go ahaead and still run the V6 with a transmission for a v8 cause I would hate to have to replace the tranny now and have to replace it in a few years again.

Wow, sounds like you got lucky and will have a fairly cheap fix.

I had a u-joint break in my Dad's Jeep a few months ago at 70mph, luckily it just bent up a few things underneath.
