car started knocking last night :(

Default car started knocking last night :(

on the way home car was ok soon as i start getting home i hear a nock and everytime i get to a stop sign it gets loud so i get home and it sounds like its coming from one of the heads aw damn damn u 166,000 miles

Pull the valvecovers, more than likely a cracked valvespring.

Trust me, I know how you feel, I just had to rebuild my entire engine because of a cracked valvespring. It may not be the problem, but if the sound is coming from the heads, then that's what I would think it would be. Could be an exhaust leak too?

At least its from the top of ur motor and not the bottom pull ur valve cover like he said ^^^^^^^

havnt worked on the car have 2 much stuff going on today i just turned the car on and yea doesnt sound like a leak it sounds like its from the driver side head constant ticking wierd sounds like close to the intake prob just me thoough

Valve Spring IMO... and wouldn't keep running the motor...cause it can take a turn for the worse if not fixed...

how much u think it would run me to fix it and would i need a new motor or only taking off the cover will i know how bad it is ?
