Way to get dent fixed without paying deductable?
Was hit and run a have dent on rear quarter. Have State Farm. They gave me list of places to take car. Am I able to take it to any shop i want? I dont have cash to pay the 500 dollar deductable due to returning to school. I was told shops are able to wave deductables and roll it in bill to insurace some how? Not sure it this is true or legal. Love ya'lls input. PM me if you need to keep it on the DL

More than 500. Big dent caught from edge of door to rear tire. Looking for someone that can work with me with deductable. Don't see me having 500 cash in hand to get it done soon. Was hoping to see if way to work around having to spend the cash. Any bit to lower it could help?

It is illeagal for a shop to save you your deductible, but that is why they offer those $500 dallar discounts LOL! They just have to call it something else and don't tell your insurace about it etc... Insurance companies know it goes on but they just act like they don't lol! Just talk to the shop before hand. By law you can take it to any shop you choose to have the car repaired. The insurance companies will usually try to sway you to go to one of their Pefered shops, but if you do you will not get them to save the deductible, because one of the stipulations of being a insurance approved shop etc... is that they get to review your books. They say it is to protect you when in reality it is just another way for them to try and save some money and make sure that they repair the car with the part they want etc... Such as aftermarket or used. But with that said it is common practice with all of the insurance companies though.GL!

If possible, just get them to write a check to you and try to find a shop that will fix it for just what they gave you, I had to do this recently , I got around paying the 500 deductible, and I found a shop here in houston that did great work for half of what i got quoted everywhere else.

First off, if you see a sign posted out front that says "We save/pay your deductible up to $xxx", run if you care about your car and how it will look afterwards. Second off, uninsured motorists does have a deductible, it depends on what you pay for but 95% of policies have a deductible on uninsured motorists and sometimes you have to get a "Blue form" filled out to have it changed from your typical $500 collision ded. to $250 UMPD coverage.
Now in re: to getting it fixed for less... for any quality shop to fix a small 2 hour dent (size of your fist) expect to pay out of pocket for:
(Times are approx so bear with me...):
3.2 paint hrs to paint 1/4 (and this is assuming it is not in a place where you need to blend the adjacent panel. (3.2x$40)-$128 paint labor + (3.2x$32)$102.40 - paint materials
----
2.0 body repair (figuring dent size of fist, not too bad). (2.0x$40).
.3 r&i rt tail light
1.2 r&i rear bumper
.5 rope back glass
add .7 for r&i antenna mast + base (if on rt 1/4)
total $188
---
About $420?
This is all without tax, hoping the dent is that small and your car is either black or the dent is dead center in the middle of the 1/4.
I know that the best quality shop in DFW area is Caliber in North Richland Hills--- the managers name is Troy Ash, he's cool as hell and I know most everyone who works in that body/paint/detail shop.
FYI I was an estimator at Service King and Caliber, that's how I know the above ^^
Let me know if you have any q's or need guidance. I am more than happy to help if I can.
As far as hookups... I can probably hook it up if you are paying out of pocket. I know some peoples.
