Default Anyone heard of Thompson Motor Sport in wylie?

Spoke with them today about a 9" I saw on craigslist. They said 2100 for a new bolt in 9" for my camaro. Sounds like a good deal, Just trying to see if anyone has a positive experience with them before I drop some coin.

Never heard of them.... I know it sounds weird but call LG Motorsports and see if they have heard of him.. They both work in the same town so maybe he has heard of him.

Just an idea.

Good idea. I'll call LG tomorrow. Here is the link to what I'm talking about:
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/1957185495.html
He told me it's a custom fabbed housing someone up north makes for him. Including the center section it's $2100 out the door. All I would have to do is swap over my backing plates and brakes. Sound too good to be true?

Stuff like this makes me think ... Is it a good idea to try to buy something cheap then to spend a few bucks more and get something you know and have heard is the best for your car??

Not saying this can't be a good part but just something to think about.

Any kind of warranty?

agreed. That's why I'm looking for references. He told me they have put this rear into plenty of fbodys. I'm hoping this thread will bring truth to his statement.

I have met him personally and my buddy bought a Iron 346 from him it was a steal and was in great shape and work perfectly and he even said if it had any issues or what ever he could take it back and would give my buddy a full refund. He is a Marine Reservist and just started his own shop he has a lot of money (if you go to his place you will know what I mean) He has a lot of stuff for sale he has a few buddy's that work for him that go around finding deals then he sells it to make a bit of a profit till his shop is up and running in full swing. He seemed like a stand up guy when talking to him and knows his stuff about LSX engines. And he has done a lot of stuff with LG he was using there dyno to tune costumers cars till he got his put in the ground. So to answer your question yes I would buy it from him if it looks like it is good shape.

First off, I am sorry for the delay in response to the thread. I am now a sponsor ls1tech so you can find me in the vendor directory or check us out at http://www.thompsonmotorsports.net I have sold a number of the rear ends in question and have had great luck with them. I have refrences if any one would like to contact them and verify the quality of workmenship, as well as a car in the shop that any one is welcome to take a look at and see what they think. As for the re grinds, We do offer regrinds as well as comp and a number of additional other new cams. I stand behind ALL of my products and always will. Thank you for your time.
