Default 99 Z28 Any market for it in Texas

My older son has a 99 Z28 with 120,000 miles on it and he is looking to trade it in and I didn't know if he should try to sell it himself.
The car is an auto, T tops, Light pewter metallic, Tan interior, No body damage and nice interior.
The seats were taken out of my SS with only 35,000 miles and put into this car. I have driven this car and have not seen any mechanicle issues at all.
The dealer offered 4,000.00 trade in and with today's car market would I be better off selling it myself and if so what would be a fair market value to list it for.

If they offered 4k I would consider it. The car probably has a trade in value of around 3-4k with a market value of maybe 5k. The car is 12 years old so they are going to just run it thru auction to sell it.

I woiuld clean it up and put it on Craigslist, you'll probably get more than the $4000 they are offering. I have seen them on there priced at $6000-$7000. Not saying you'll get it, but even if you undercut the market asking price and put it out for $5000 you're $1000 better off. Just make sure you have a good ad with a lot of detailed pics.

Try to sell it in the Texas Classifieds. Just see what kind of bites you get and if you get nothing take it to the dealership.

Thats what I would do. You can always make more selling the car yourself then just taking it to the dealership.

Keep in mind, if you decide to trade it in... you'll be saving a few hundred $ in taxes on the new car.
